We are trying to help with employing only local staff and selling locally produced products. Public bus services operate from San Jose to our nearest village, Sabanas. From there, we can arrange a convenient pickup for you. Once you’re with us, a car becomes less essential. However, if you choose to drive, a 4x4 vehicle is recommended for easier access. Without a 4x4, kindly inform us in advance, allowing us to arrange a pickup for you at the entrance gate of Portal de la Montaña. Before planning your stay at Rainforest Hideaway, we'd like to share a few important details. For the best experience navigating our mountainous terrain, we recommend traveling with a 4WD vehicle. Smaller cars may find some of the climbs challenging. Our on-site restaurant welcomes guests every day with varied Kitchen hours to suit your dining needs: Monday to Thursday: 7am - 11pm Friday: 7am - 5pm Saturday: 6pm - 11pm Sunday: 7am - 11pm Please note the early closing time on Fridays and the later opening on Saturdays due to Sabbath observance.
